Description |
Dipolos is a dance for two about the attraction of opposite poles. The geological definition of "dipolos", a dipole, is "a pair of electric charges or magnetic poles, of equal magnitude but of opposite sign or polarity". Choreographer Kekoni has this to say about this work: "Separating the poles is a wall through which it is possible to hear. Setting the boundaries is a violent process, similar to a stormy sea. But what if the sun and the moon should mix? They float within each other. No one has dared to open the door, yet. As the magnetism grows, the trajectories become blurred. A time lag is created between the movements. The circle is stretched to an oval and the suspended sun comes out. One day the woman comes closer, stops, and erupts. The man soon follows in her tracks - bearing discs." |
Other Information | The work was part of the evening called Three Is A Crowd, which consisted of three Nordic duets. |
