Tommi Kitti started his career as a dancer in the early 1970s. He has danced and choreographed in e.g. Dance Theatre Raatikko, the Helsinki Dance Company, the Cullberg Ballet, and the Finnish National Ballet. Kitti’s intimate and empathetic relationship with dance and the virtuosity of his movements have placed his works among the cream of Finnish contemporary dance. The dance company Tommi Kitti & Co was founded in 2000, the same year that the work Still Life for Four Dancers won the special prize at the Rencontres Chorègraphiques Internationales de Seine-Saint-Denis choreography platform. In 2001-2003 Tommi Kitti worked as Zodiak - Center for New Dance’s first invited choreographer. |
