Description |
"Falling Through The Disappearing Light (2021) is a sensory immersive performance work created for five internationally established professional dance artists and nine local dance enthusiasts from the local prestigious Ballet School, Raija Lehmussaari Ballet School. The Music and sound is composed particularly for this creation by Australian composer Jane Sheldon and sound designer Jaakko Vastapuu. Visuals and lighting design is from Finnish celebrated lighting/set designer Kalle Ropponen, costumes are by Finnish designer Heidi Wikar. The crew consists of several nationalities, cultural backgrounds and age groups. The project's idea and source of inspiration originates from Danish writer H.C. Andersens epic story of The Little Match Girl about a dying child's dreams and hope, published in 1845. Yet in this particular work, the narrative is viewed from today's perspective and adapted to current phenomenons. The performance offers for its audience a multi-sensory journey in which movement, texts, visual and sound design form an encompassing and touching journey." |
