Description |
WDMSNLCA is a small-scale salon performance. The luxurious pillows of its sofas reflect the essence and position of contemporary art in a culture where art and commerce are locked in a constant embrace. The performance soothes and caresses the senses using movement, singing and chattering, while also giving surprising insights to those who usually feel intimidated by contemporary art. And the best thing is: they are guaranteed to feel even more intimidated after experiencing this. Based on careless imitation of aesthetic concepts, WDMSNLCA wonders what (contemporary) art is, is there a quality criteria to it, and if there is, who owns that criteria? And what kind of art is permitted to have a price tag on it? Liisa Pentti and Riikka Theresa Innanen look for answers to these very topical yet eternal questions by using such methods as denying gravity and kinaesthetic empathy. Is there still a possibility of art, or life, after our dreams have been branded? Concept, direction : Liisa Pentti |
