Description |
In these two small-scale, abstract works, my aim was to make pathways to the recesses of the mind through an interaction between movement, music and visual elements. The events on stage and the impressions created are pass-through places for fleeting emotions, momentaneous tensions in different situations. These moments alternate with the harmony created by travelling and the images of the mind, only to shatter and be born again, then fading further away. The works were inspired by the romantic mindscapes of artist Nanna Susi, painted in breathtaking colours, with expressive and symbolic elements juxtaposed. The dance pieces are a follow-up to two earlier works: Guardian of the Night – Pilgrimage of the seven souls (1991, 2001) and Sahara – The traveller in the landscape (2002).
