| Description |
Choreographer Riina Saastamoinen and the international work group’s new piece Before & After began in a special cultural climate, in Riina’s new homeland Bolivia. The work is based on three solo works which deal with personality and identity, how they have changed, and the role that culture plays in the construction of identity. The choreographer uses the work to examine Western and non-Western contemporary culture and the difference in the environments that inspire young artists. The performers’ passions, dreams and belief, and on the other hand their obsessions, perfectionism and lack of faith leave their mark on this intensive and multi-layered series of solos. |
