"As 2008 was the 100 year anniversary of composer Maurice Ravel, Göteborgs Operan did a 3 part dance performance called Bolero x 3. This was produced by three choreographers, Johan Inger, Alexander Öhman and Kenneth Kvarnström. Kenneth approached me to write the music for his piece, interpreting Ravels Bolero from an individual perspective. The decision was made not to overtly use much of Bolero melody and instead focusing on the crescendo." (Jukka Rintamäki) |
