Description Helsinki Dance Company (HDC) (formely The Helsinki City Theatre Dance Company) operates in conjunction with a large drama theatre, the Helsinki City Theatre, and is the biggest Contemporary dance company in Finland with its 12 dancers. HDC is launching a touring project for the next three years (2010–2012) with six of the dancers under the supervision of Kenneth Kvarnström (K.Kvarnström & co / Helsinki Dance Company) while the rest of the dancers perform in other productions. HDC is known for their versatile skills in performing physically demanding contemporary dance as well as expressive dance theatre. The repertoire consists of a variety of productions of different lengths and entourage sizes.
Other Information The company does not have its own technical staff because it is a part the organisation of the Helsinki City Theatre. The repertoire of the company includes also soloworks that can be performed in the same evening with the group works.
