| Description |
Amid the sense of having no agency of influencing the society, the performance reflects on "being unarmed" as a state of human being, both metaphorically and physically. "Handlessness" insensitively describes helplessness (in the body). The English term 'unarmed' translates to unarmed or disarmed. What is the social control that makes one feel unarmed, even though contemplating social influence itself reveals certain privileges? The work has a somewhat cynical relationship with the world, where the well-off seek their influential place at the levels of psychology, politics, and spirituality, among others. Childlike anger stems from the helplessness of an individual Nordic person in the midst of a large and global capitalist machinery of injustice, where, for example, the citizens of the Nordic countries have a better chance of finally ending up with the recipients' side - so boo-hoo? Somewhere, however, one must find a genuine dream of being able to influence and change things. |
