Description |
Where are we here? In a session with a fortune teller? In a live installation? In a wacky comic strip or a wellness tutorial? We meet the figure Ajima, who entangles us in a charade with our own projections, tells the truth and downright lies, conducts clichés and tears them apart, looks at us while we stare back. We find ourselves in a constantly mutating roller coaster of relations between authority, comedy, power and the unknown, in the tension between subtle moments of intimacy and screaming colourful fireworks. What is at stake in this process of routinely making assumptions and casting projections on each other and on ourselves? In AJIMA, our desires to see somebody being or doing something are constantly being re-negotiated. |
