The internationally acclaimed RootlessRoot bring their high voltage, exhilaratingly physical and brutal dance to Oulu City Theatre’s Pikisali in collaboration with JoJo – Oulu Dance Centre in their world premiere of Europium. Linda Kapetanea, Jozef Frucek and their artistic team tear open the complexity of the European identity and condition. They draw inspiration from the Greek myth of Europe’s abduction by Zeus, the volatile properties the Europium (EU63) metal and the tragic and violent story of the Raft of the Medusa. Europium is a co-production of JoJo – Oulu Dance Centre, RootlessRoot, Onassis Cultural Centre and Korzo Theatre in collaboration with Oulu City Theatre. |
