Description |
Desire. Sexuality. Autopsy. Mother. Choreographic psychology and Viennese pastries – jealousy, bitterness and fear of failure. Sweat, flesh and lost relics trapped in a dead vacuum of high culture. Huono (Fail) is based on The Piano Teacher (1983), Elfriede Jelinek’s incisive novel portraying sexuality, sadism, power and a twisted mother-daughter relationship. Stuck in an ever-lasting present tense, the narrative is paced by the accompaniment of Bach, Chopin and Schubert, each note symbolically played with oppressively painstaking precision. The choreography comes together as a meticulous composition interspersed with predefined spells of improvisation. The dance unfolds in the here and now, right before our eyes. |
