Description | Night Shift is a dance theatre piece that derives from the industrial history of the city of Kotka. The movement of the two dancers in the middle of machines makes art out of working activites. The material is developed from a concrete starting point and expands to a poetic, physical choreography and finally turns into a wild jazz-inspired rythmical rejoicement. The venue of Night Shift turns the traditional concept of the scene upside down: The site-specific piece was choreographed and performed in the set workshop of Kotka City Theatre. |
Other Information | Performed as a part of the cross-artistic Open house -performance at Kotka City Theatre. The production was subsidised by the Regional Art Council of Southeast Finland. |
